A torn-up roofline after a storm isn't a "get to it next week" problem, and we don't treat it like one — Roof Repair Smedway answers, scopes the damage, and dispatches a crew across Colfax fast.
Roof Repair Smedway grew out of Colfax, IL job sites, not a corporate rollout plan — that's still how we staff every Commercial Roofing crew we send to Colfax.
Ask to see our Colfax, IL license and insurance certificate and you'll have it in your hand before the estimate even starts.
Every Commercial Roofing job, from a single flashing repair to a full Colfax tear-off, gets built to the same standard: the one that holds up, not the one that's fastest to invoice.
Proof of licensing before the first ladder goes up.
Storms don't wait for office hours, so our on-call line doesn't either.
Every price is itemized, not eyeballed over the phone.
Faster arrivals because we're already close by.
A roof rarely just fails one day — it usually spends months quietly showing signs that get written off as cosmetic.
Homeowners in Colfax often mention they'd noticed something off months before calling — a stain that seemed to fade, a shingle that looked slightly out of place after a storm.
If the water coming off your downspouts looks gritty, the shingle surface is thinner than it should be.
A cupped shingle traps moisture instead of shedding it, which speeds up decking rot underneath.
Daylight visible through the attic roof boards means water has the same path in.
Stains grow slowly, which is exactly why they get ignored until they spread.
An unexplained bill increase is worth checking against your roof's condition.
A bare patch after high wind is a direct gap in your roof's weather barrier that needs covering right away.
We split our work into specific service lanes because a wind-lifted shingle and a full system replacement need completely different crews and timelines.
Below is the full breakdown of what we cover in Colfax, so you can see roughly where your situation fits before you even call.
Active leaks get priority dispatch — a temporary cover first, a proper repair as soon as the crew can get materials on-site.
Every homeowner gets walked through material options before a decision is made, not after.
Commercial roofs run different membrane systems entirely, and our crews are trained specifically on TPO, EPDM, and modified bitumen.
A full tear-off strips the roof to the decking, replaces any damaged boards, and rebuilds with new underlayment and shingles to current code.
A proper inspection checks flashing, fasteners, ventilation, and granule wear before small issues become leaks.
Chimney crickets, skylight seals, and valley flashing are common leak points that general repair crews often miss.
Homeowners tell us the not-knowing is often worse than the repair itself, so we try to remove as much guesswork from the process as we can.
After-hours calls still reach a live line for anything time-sensitive.
You get a plain-language explanation, not just a number.
Every figure is documented in writing — nothing verbal, nothing vague.
Once approved, the crew completes the work to manufacturer spec and cleans the site before leaving.
If you've been burned by a roofing company before, these are the specific things we do differently, not just a promise that we're "better."
We give you an honest arrival window instead of a vague "sometime this week."
Every estimate is itemized so you know exactly what you're paying for.
Certifications stay current so material warranties remain valid after installation.
We'd rather send a crew back for a small fix than leave a homeowner unsure.
We've worked with enough local carriers to know what actually speeds up claim approval.
Some roofs need a full reroof; plenty just need one honest repair.
A verbal promise means nothing when you actually need it, so ours is documented and handed over at project close.
If something unexpected turns up mid-job, like hidden decking damage, we flag it and get your approval before it changes your bill.
If you ever need to use the guarantee, the process is a phone call, not a fight.
If your address sits just past our standard Colfax radius, dispatch can usually still work something out.
Routes are planned around Colfax's actual streets and access points, not a generic radius drawn on a map, which is part of why our arrival windows tend to hold up.
Homeowners just outside Colfax proper sometimes assume they're too far for a standard visit, but our dispatch radius usually reaches further than people expect.
